Ollella has introduced a new dine-in cafe at Far East Square. Established in 2016, Ollella is the brainchild of two Indonesian sisters, Ollivia and Marcella Putri, who envisioned a pastry shop specializing in delectable pastries that combine various flavors and textures.
One of the culinary highlights on their menu is the Lontong, a dish that combines vegetables and rice cakes immersed in a spicy, lemak curry. This culinary creation offers a harmonious fusion of flavors and textures, with the crispness of the vegetables complementing the soft and chewy rice cakes. The lemak curry, celebrated for its creamy and coconut-infused richness, adds a tantalizing spiciness that elevates the entire dining experience. For those seeking a vegetarian option, one can be provided upon request, ensuring a delightful choice for every palate.
Another star on their menu is the Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah, featuring fragrant coconut-infused rice served with succulent fried chicken cubes marinated with an array of spices. This dish is accompanied by Padang-style green chili, crispy fried anchovies, and a perfectly prepared sunny-side up egg. The combination of aromatic, spicy, and savory elements in this dish results in a truly satisfying culinary experience.
And, of course, one should not miss the kuehs. The Kueh Lapis Sagu, a multi-layered steamed cake with vibrant colors, is one of the most recognizable kuehs available. Made with coconut milk and fresh pandan juice, it offers a fragrant and perfectly sweet taste. The Kueh Dadar, often referred to as a pandan burrito, encases shredded coconut cooked in gula melaka. Finally, the Lemper Ebi features glutinous rice stuffed with spicy shrimps fried in rempah, offering a delightful blend of flavors and textures.
